[2016 Drama] Please Love the Useless Me (Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai) - Episode 07

Sorry for the late update this week... Had no time to even sleep. This will also be the case for next week :( But I promise, I'll write a recap as soon as possible.

In the middle of the episode, I was like:
Did I miss a part of the episode?
Cuz although there were a lot of build up, the transition came quite suddenly....
Like whaaaaaat?!
Anyhow~ still very good.
The rating for this episode was 9.6%. Didn't stay over 10, but still good. Average comes to 9.2% still the best of this time slot. Hopefully next week
Episode 7, serving as the turning point, finally gave Fukakyon opportunity to show off her acting chops - which is quite awesome! (I still gotta say, whatever she did around her mouth isn't great, but she's still conveying those emotions pretty well). This episode had more negative emotions and actually have bigger impact on viewers. Still funny and warm mostly, but lots of moments where you just feel bad for Akira, Haruko, Shunin, and Mogami. Shibata, although kinda did it to herself, I totally see where she's coming from.









Everyone's hilarious reaction to Shibata's engagement LOL. "REALLY?!"

The director almost got me thinking it's Shibata's dream, too LOL. BUT it's real and they're speeding the storyline up.

Shibata feels good doing everything as an engaged woman. Seriously~ don't pass people like that (but Kyoko chan is too cute!!!)

 Here we have a very eager to get married man, Mogami. "It is quite rushed, can we get married within 3 months?" he asked. OMG. I'd run away on the spot. Everything is happening too fast and when someone is this eager, it really looks overly-desperate to the point of suspicious.

Here he said, "you can do whatever you like on all the minor details." NOTHING about a wedding is minor!!! (Akira also resonated my thought, while Shibata only hesitated for one sec).

Changing names after marriage is kind of stupid. Chinese people (arguably the most sexist historically), don't even do that. I don't wanna change all my bank, government, etc infos all over!

Shibata still visits Shunin for free food!!! This is awesome. I'd totally fall for a guy that offers me free dinner/food any day!

Shunin of course used the omelette to mock Shibata's real engagement LOL. Fukakyon's comic timing is so perfect! Turned out both the old man and Shunin didn't take her announcement seriously until she mentioned the ring. :P That's when Shunin congratulated her

 He then goes on to grant her holidays to prep for her wedding. Shibata was like "The cafe would be understaffed without me".
Shunin : "No, it's the same with or without you" (ouch lol)

Akira is actually a really usual girl with her dream wedding and desire to marry. Apparently for Japanese women, only 2% of women >35 years old are able to get married. Wow.

Shibata's phone call w/ her mom is so funny "Yes, I'm that daughter who's thirty yet still borrowed money from my parents" LOL
Next episode is gonna be fun when she visits her family and had to bring a fake fiance with her ;)
(None of them believed she's engaged for real) hahahaha
Her mom's reaction is kinda like my mom's when I said I got a BF... well, let's just say I'm not really popular among guys and my parents both fear the very independent manly me is either Les or unable to get a husband. Which I gotta say, after all these years, I really don't mind being single :P

Shibata and Shunin in this episode is just so funny and heartfelt throughout. I think it all make sense when you think about it. She's so much more herself when she's with Shunin. He is also very tolerating to her. Taking care of her even when he doesn't have to.
Here, Shibata is imitating Haruko lol "Dining with another person is more delicious, right? Ayumi kun"

 A5, the adorable kitty should not be forgotten XD. Shibata loves food more than the cat ~~ MOE!~~~~

Shunin told Shibata to learn how to do chores (seriously, if she's gonna marry you one day, does that even matter?! hahaha). Because she was mocking him saying "Shunin, you'll make a great wife". He got a little pissed and did his S thing by saying "Compare to you, I am" ouch ouch ~~~

Then he suddenly turns into nice mode again and wish her happiness...

Wedding food tasting~~~ This whole section of wedding prep is just hilarious. Should def. watch it yourself!! Shibata learns that being the bride is a hard task! No time to eat + Tight fitting dress?! No! I do not like that!

 HAHAH Mogami didn't tell her they're trying the dress afterwards and she was like "I ate too much meat" (No... you don't gain that much weight from one meal ;) ) Shibata then didn't let Mogami look at her in the dress. He even brought camera!!! I hope my future fiance does that!
Apparently she has to diet for 3 kg to fit into that dress (what, Kyoko chan fits it perfectly!!!) And she's beautiful!!

If you watch these things carefully. Mogami's wedding plan is very much the same as the one Akira dreamed of ;) coincidence?

 Shibata then was called out by Haruko. Shibata really likes her XD (her woman-crush ;)?)

 Shibata/ Fukakyon is so cute when she's showing off her ring XD. I'd make a gif, but no time :/

 Haruko then went ahead and say what we all know and have in mind "Don't you like Ayumi (Shunin)?"

 Shibata hasn't realize it at this point, so she denied it. With lots of "impossible"s. And said, if Shunin hears Haruko saying this, he'd be the most disappointed one (which is true).

 Shibata then suggests Haruko to go be Shunin's company at dinner cuz he always eats alone (lol don't do this to yourself, girl!!!).

Haruko totally sees Shunin as a brother (because he IS her brother in law). She said Shunin's brother is still and always/forever will be her number one. T_T Shunin...

Here we have Akira giving us a classical speech!!!:
"They say Men's romance are 'saved as...' "
"While for Woman, romance are just 'save' which replaces the old one. This is definitely a lie"
"For woman, we always just keep the person we love the most and delete everything else"
Hmm... interesting...

 Akira then mentioned these really old-school dreams she has about Shunin hahaha. Him stopping her wedding or stuck with her on a snowy mountain for a whole night LOL. She's adorable!!! No, it isn't every girls dream lol. We are normal ;)

 Shibata then suggests that Akira tell Shunin how she feels, because she didn't do so during the 7 years they were dating.

Come weekend, Shunin caught a cold and Shibata is making him rest in her own way. Taking away his glasses HAHAHAHA. Their interaction is so cute. Don't miss it! When he got it back from Akira (Shibata asked her to bring it back and talked to him). He smiled... it's these little details, guys.

 When the writer gives you a plot for the main character to go to a place remote with no reception or heat. Then you know she's gonna be stuck there HAHAHAHA. and that would be a plot twist.

 Mogami turned up surprisingly to help her with work, but accidentally contributed to both of them being locked in and triggered Shibata's realization on who she really likes.

 Fukakyon is SO PRETTY under this natural light and when she turned, I was like "WOW"

Akira's visit to Shunin proved to be a nice ending for them. Although a sad one. He smiled at all the silly things Shibata did and I think Akira took notice (although wasn't acted out in this episode yet, the ending of this episode is probably because of this. Will see more on next episode).
Shunin apologized for not being able to give her happiness. Akira then finally tells him she was very happy when she was with him although it was very hard. He made it clear that he has moved on and she should, too... This scene gave closure to the relationship between these two. Akira then wishes him to be "number one for someone"

 Stuck in the warehouse are the Mogami/Shibata couple. He is panicking because he has to get to the hospital to tend to his father, whose condition worsened the previous night. When they are discussing about recent memories, he mentioned that the wedding food was delicious ;) These two are pretty similar.

Then, it dawned on Shibata that the one she actually likes is Shunin. I think this is kinda abrupt... at least Shunin could be like trying to reach her and then save her indirectly for her to realize her feelings... but no.

They were saved by the company and got out before they freeze to death lol (they weren't even close to that). She then comforts Akira who got her closure from Shunin...

Because of the incident at the warehouse, the whole company knows about Shibata/Mogami relationship ... oops! Did he not do that on purpose?! hahaha
The manager is hilarious. I love him!!! hahaha so funny!!!

Within 24 hours of realizing her feelings, Shibata broke off the engagement and the relationship w/ Mogami.
He was apologetic about rushing things. He noticed Shibata's feelings, so he was jealous. He also said "we are very similar"

Shibata mentioned how Mogami made her have hopes about herself and the world.
"I suddenly believe that this world can be kind to me" OMG.... so how I felt when the first time a guy confessed to me hahahah.
Before then I was pretty sure guys either thinks I'm a guy or I'm a les (same thing?) hahaha. I'm like revealing how I am worse than Shibata like every second :P.


They revert back to friends (really...).
At last, he gave her a handshake-hug ----awwww~~ that's my favourite move!!! Like on top of my list! Trying to play it cool, then couldn't resist~  Totally trumps back hug, sharing pocket and all other moves.

Looking for comfort, Shibata came to the cafe. Today, Shunin put "Love" on her Omelette. She commented "why today of all days, you write 'love'... Can't you even comfort people?"

 Then he passed her a dish of meat LOL. That's love, Shibata! What's more comforting than meat :D

 She then proceeds to tell him, she is not getting married. And said "I am so bad/mean"

 It escalated quickly from self blame to blaming it on Shunin (aw....).
"It's all your fault, it's all your fault. Let's just treat it as that"
Shunin, being his nice/gentle self accepted it and just said "then let's just treat it as that"...

 She then argued, "What's that tone?"
He replied "What~ you're so troublesome~"

 Shibata admits it and started eating

 Shunin just warmly mocks her on how she can eat so much while crying so hard LOL.

 She then cutely replies "You made it" ... AWWWWWW I already ship these two. Get together, fast!!

 Now, Shibata went home and broke the news to Akira. Hearing that, Akira suggested that they drink (alcohol). Shibata didn't really explain, she just said "a lot of things happened, we revered back to being friends"

 Then Akira smoothly asked Shibata to move out...
What~~~ well, I am guessing Akira noticed the mutual attraction between Shibata and Shunin, so she's making her move back to the cafe :D Maybe to support this couple like she once suggested would be "interesting"

 Our reactions were probably the same as Shibata's "What?"

Next episode, Shibata has to go back to see her parents, and to save face, she needs to bring a fake fiance with her hahah. They're even doing interviews in the promo :P.
I'm guessing Shunin came last minute to her rescue hahaha. He's just awesome that way. No... I think it can probably be Mogami?
Can't wait for next episode. This series really is good. Probably the best of this season (surprisingly). Hope we can see better ratings and even better plots next week!
